MTANZ seeking new CEO 11 Feb 2021

The Medical Technology Association of New Zealand (MTANZ) is the peak industry body representing medical technology manufacturers, importers, exporters and distributors of medical devices in New Zealand. MTANZ members include multinational companies, locally owned distributors as well as our burgeoning local MedTech manufacturing businesses. Its members supply approximately 95 percent of all non-pharmaceutical products used in public and private healthcare facilities. Medical Technology is a fast growing, highly innovative sector crucial to both health and economic outcomes for our country.

As Chief Executive you will lead a small team providing a range of services to the MTANZ members. You will work with a broad range of stakeholders and will be a powerful advocate for the industry with both procurement and regulatory decision makers. Working with international partners and the New Zealand trade system, you will support the ongoing innovation and development of the sector. MTANZ has an established Code of Practice which as Chief Executive you will monitor and work with members to ensure the highest degree of ethical behaviour across the sector. You will work closely with members and ensure their ongoing commitment to the association, overseeing a range of services including events and conferences. This role reports to an industry led governance board and is responsible for the general management and financial sustainability of the organisation.

If you are the successful candidate, you will be an energetic and passionate champion for the sector. You will be a consummate networker and influencer, with particular experience in government relations and stakeholder engagement. You will be naturally collaborative and partnership oriented and your fascination with innovation will give you an affinity with your members. Experience in the medical technology or wider health sector is desirable, as is experience working in international trade or in a similar membership organisation. You will also bring broad general management skills including financial management and board reporting. This is an Auckland based position.

Applications close Friday 26 February. Our intention is the successful candidate will begin in late June, although we welcome discussion with candidates on this.
