New Pharmac chair Paula Bennett is declining to commit to concrete 12-month targets in her new role at the agency, saying it is far too early.
That’s despite a lot of tough talk in her speech at the Medical Technology Association of New Zealand conference in Auckland yesterday.
Associate health minister (Pharmac) David Seymour announced Ms Bennett’s appointment asthe new chair of Pharmac on 28 April. She replaces former Labour MP Steve Maharey, who resigned from the role in December last year.
The former deputy prime minister, real estate agent and Give Us a Clue host says Pharmac, established in 1993, needs to change.
