Overview
The MTANZ Board and the CEO are supported by a number of industry committees to identify strategic issues and develop recommendations to the MTANZ Board for appropriate action.
There are four industry special interest groups. Each group will have a page assigned on this website and this page will provide details on the groups focus. These pages will be updated over the next few weeks and added as information is available to you.
DentalDental manages the industry approach to specific dental sector issues and interacts with the NZ Dental Association regarding training, exhibitions and support.
Emerging Medical Technologies GroupEmerging Medical Technologies Group manages the industry’s approach to specific medtech manufacturer sector issues and will be engaged in consultation in any proposed regulations affecting the NZ manufacturers.
InVitro Diagnostics In Vitro Diagnostics manages the industry’s approach to specific IVD sector issues and will be engaged in consultation in any proposed regulations affecting the NZ diagnostic market.
Orthopaedic Orthopaedic manages the industry’s approach to specific orthopaedic sector issues and works with the NZ Orthopaedic Association regarding participation in education, exhibitions and support

Regulatory AffairsThe role of the regulatory specific group is to engage with Medsafe to determine the Rules that will establish a pre-registration and post-market regulatory process for New Zealand. This group also assists MTANZ to develop a position regarding regulatory issues and the likely impact on business
E-BusinessThe role of the e-business specific group is to identify e-commerce and trading issues that impact on conducting business with customers. This group also addresses specific procurement issues and looks for efficiencies in the supply chain
Code of PracticeThere are three committees with responsibilities for oversight, monitoring and complaints of the Code.
a) Code of Practice Committee
The COP committee provides the administrative and policy oversight to the Board on the Code of Practice and as such is one of the strategic committees. It monitors the implementation of, and education on, the Code and communication of its compliance focus
b) Code Complaints Panel
The CCP is a panel from which are drawn the Code Complaints Committee and the Code Appeals Committee when needed to hear a complaint or an appeal
c) Code Monitoring Committee
The CMC has a proactive role in monitoring compliance with the Code of Practice.
