The purpose of the conference is to provide an opportunity for the development and education of day surgery nurses nationwide. With advances in technology in the medical industry, more and more procedures are performed as day stay cases. Upskilling and the sharing of knowledge is paramount.
The Day Surgery Nurses SIG has been meeting at various Day Surgery Units in Auckland for the past 10 years. Our membership reaches out to DSUs from Whangarei to Hamilton and Rotorua as well as a large local following. The aim of the conference is to provide a national forum for all Day Surgery Nurses in New Zealand.
The main purpose of the group is to provide education and support and assist in establishing standards of care for Day Surgery Nurses in this rapidly developing field.
This meeting provides an opportunity for both the delegates and the trade representatives to discuss current technologies and new developments.
